FAQ

  • What is a doula collective?

Our doula collective is a small group of independent doulas who work together to help families find the right support. Instead of hiring from a big company, you’re matched directly with a doula who works one-on-one with you. The collective simply makes it easier to connect with trusted, experienced doulas on the Cape and Islands.

  • How is this different from hiring a doula agency?

Our collective is different from a doula agency because you work directly with your doula from the very beginning, not through a company or manager. There’s no corporate oversight or third-party control — just independent, experienced doulas collaborating to make it easier for you to find the right match and receive personal, one-on-one care.

  • How do I get paired with a doula?

Upon receiving your referral form, we create matches based on your specific needs, language preference, and location. One of our doulas will reach out to you within three business days of receiving your referral.

  • Are doulas insured?

Yes, all doulas within the collective carry liability insurance.

  • Do you accept MassHealth?

Yes, all of our doulas are MassHealth providers.

  • Do you accept private pay or HSA/FSA?

Yes, we accept private pay. Each doula in our collective operates their own independent practice and handles payment directly with you, so rates, packages, and payment options may vary depending on the doula you partner with.
